What This Calculator Does
The Working Days Calculator adds or subtracts a specified number of working days from a start date to find the resulting date. Unlike the Business Days Calculator (which counts working days between two dates), this tool projects forward or backward by a number of working days, skipping weekends.
How the Calculation Works
Enter a start date, the number of working days, and whether to add or subtract. The calculator moves forward (or backward) one day at a time, counting only weekdays (Monday-Friday) and skipping weekends. The result is the date that falls exactly that many working days from your start date, along with the day of the week.
Example Scenario
A contractor is told a permit will be issued "10 working days" after submission on Wednesday, July 1, 2026. Entering July 1 as the start date, selecting "Add," and entering 10 produces Thursday, July 16, 2026 โ the date the permit is expected.
